The Walnut Guitar Bench:

Literally made with what I had laying around in the first crazy days of the shutdown,  some short lengths of Walnut, an old Pine post with a corner casted in clear resin that I had messed with years ago and scraps from some other projects for the resin inlays.

This bench was a true product of active meditation, whose function as a working project to keep my mind occupied was just as important as whatever it was going to end up looking like.

A highly finished top piece sanded to a 3000 grit, finished with a natural wax finish and buffed to a shine.

Inlay on a leg. A scrap from a past project of Black Acacia and eco-resin.

I needed a good place to sit and play. Just the right height, a little footrest so I can create a little lap for my strings and just a little style.

Small scraps of live edge from some thick Walnut made for a perfect asymmetrical footrest.

I liked the incongruity between the wood types and trying to bridge them through design.
