River of Life: Silver Maple #1

The most recent work to date and also the largest wall piece yet. This is the step one vision for the Silver Maple series. Things move slower in quarantimes, and the domino effect effects us all. I spent the first few months of the lockdown, with this full slab just starting at me from the wall across my shop. It represented dreams, as well as investment. As such, I find another piece crafting metaphor for balance and perspective.

The River has alway stood as a symbol for the full spectrum of life. The beginning and the end. A great connector in intersection between nature and man. The flow of energy. The balance of strength and tranquility. Likewise the river has many moods; calm, gentle, turbulent, dark the adjectives go on with the current.

I struggle with capturing all this in pictures, but I wanted to show the impact changes of light have on the changing moods of the piece in the shots below. For a virtual tour of this piece check out the videos below the pictures.
